The long awaited event of 2012 for the Tsai family finally took place on the auspicious date of July 21. Both grandmothers and one grandfather, one uncle, one aunt, five cousins, and a myriad of friends, in addition to the family and friends of the groom, descended to the humble state of Utah, to a small town in the hills of the Rockies, to celebrate and witness the marriage of our daughter Jessica to her companion Henry. The father of the bride could not have been more nervous or anxious, but the excitement and the grandeur of today's event overshadowed all uncertainties and exuded hope and gladness for the father of the bride and to all of the attendants.
The opportunity to witness a couple getting married in the temple when you know the couple is a happy beautiful feeling. But the opportunity to do so when you are the father of the bride is a feeling beyond description. No words are adequate to describe the joy that your daugher has made a right choice to marry the right person at the right place or the pride of a parent that this is your daughter who was just married. It is a worthwhile feeling that all of the hard work in building righteous traditions have come to fruition. No father was more grateful than the father of the bride.
In the temple, about twenty people attended the temple wedding in Draper, Utah. Outside many more waited for the bride and groom to come out for photos. Finally, the bride and groom did emerge for the first time in public after their wedding to the shouts and cheers of the crowd. Under the overcast sky, the wind was refreshing. The weather did not deter the crowd nor the photographer from his work. For over an hour, the photographer directed poses for various different poses, from group photos to families to friends to brides maids and best men.
