Ocean City Getaway

Consistent with the Tsai Ocean City tradition of yesteryear, we braved the cold April weather to enjoy the sparsely populated beach town. One of the first things we attempted was kite flying. Or rather, Mom ran up and down the boardwalk in the frigid wind, only to witness the kite float up a few feet a couple of times. Most of the time, it dragged along the wooden planks. Her hands were nearly frozen at the end.  This was a harsh way to create a memory.  But the hot delicious dinner more than made up for the floppy kite. After a most comfortable stay at the Comfort Inn, we took off for the beach.  No wading in the water this April occurred, but left some conspicuous markings in the sand to reveal to future generations that we were indeed there.  Check out the artwork.  Can you read the writing in the sand? Finally, before we departed from the ocean town, we indulged in a small bucket of Boardwalk Fries and enjoyed a round of Go Kart.  It was great as always

Organ Workshop

On the night before the workshop, Dr. Cook and the four instructors performed a Organ Concert and Sing Along. On Saturday morning, registration began promptly at 8am. Donuts and juice were provided. Beginning at 8am, 15-minute one-on-one mini-lessons were given by several of the instructors. In total, the 15 mini-lesson slots were excellent opportunities for students to play a piece and to receive critique from the instructors. After the opening exercises at 9am in the chapel, the students were able to choose from one of three parallel tracks, running constantly until 1pm. During the closing e

Parklands Green Day

This weekend, we participated in our community Parklands Green Day. We joined about 30 neighbors in scouring the neighborhood in picking up trash and recyclables. Split into two teams, we walked around the community and collected items into yellow and blue trash bags. Mom even met a new friend from China. It was a neat feeling to be able to be a small part of keeping our community clean and green.
