Amish Tour

Our Spring Break getaway this year took us to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, home of the Amish.  After work on a Thursday, we traveled to York, Pennsylvania, where we rested comfortable in a Courtyard hotel.  In the morning, we visited the Bird-in-Hand Farmers Market , a unique rustic market with everything novel and sweet and practical under one roof.  The flavors were unique to that part of the country.  Before leaving, Megan bought a caramel apple, and we delighted in some delicious fruit nectar. Next, we toured the Kitchen Kettle Village, a collection of over 40 shops, ranging from furniture to yarn to candy to everything else.  In one shop, an antique piano was available outside.  Folks old and young were tinkering around with the piano for fun.  Li-Fang jumped in and rehearsed a classical from memory.  Her playing was a serious stark contrast to those who preceded.  After her piece, everyone broke in spontaneous applause.
