Happy Holidays 2017

Happy Holidays from the Tsai family, 2017!

Dear family and friends,

Another year has passed by so quickly. The year began with a visit by Li-Fang's parents and sister. We visited the Amish village in Pennsylvania, Ocean City, New York City, and Hill Cumorah. This year's highlight was the marriage of our daughter, Melinda, to her Javi. This fall, Megan started her second year of color guard, Li-Fang doubled up on classes, and I added one more class to teach. We hope you enjoy reading our thoughts about this year and hope you had a wonderful year as well.

This fall, Montgomery College asked me to teach a third class.  I was hesitant to take on more load.  But they begged to teach because the professor became ill.  I reluctantly agreed, but this semester has been unbearably busy.  I have learned my lesson and will return to teaching only two classes next semester.  Luckily, I have been singing in church choirs.  Also, I have started to learn international folk dancing with Li-Fang.  These activities have helped to relieve my stress.  I am grateful for all of my blessings, my family, and friends.
It's a wholesome new life for me this year. God saved me. The process of "Near to Thee" is depending on ME. God never left me alone. I feel His love. I learned to always be grateful, to communicate with Him with prayer, to listen to Him by study His words. I knew all that but did not really put my heart into it. I am grateful for the church education system provided a way to connect me through the Pathway. I am grateful for my family.
Wow this year went by quickly! We started out with a trip to Taiwan and then had lots of visitors throughout the year, including Henry’s family. And also another family trip to Hawaii to see Henry’s brother’s family. It was so nice to spend time with family on both sides and it’s safe to say that Blake’s Chinese has improved a lot! Thanks to Henry’s parents :) Through all our experiences this year, we’ve really appreciated family, which is what matters most. Even through life’s toughest challenges, we know that family will always be there to love and support :)
This year I have been blessed to start working full-time at Pratt & Whitney in Hartford, CT. The move back to the East Coast was eventful, but my new job has been both refreshing and quite fulfilling. Wishing you all Happy Holidays and looking forward to a great new year!
I'm coming up to my final semester in the undergraduate Mechanical Engineering program at BYU! Didn't think I'd make it this far. This past summer, I came back to Maryland, where I took up an internship with Stanley Black & Decker in power tool design. Apart from that and school, I've enjoyed taking spontaneous trips, playing clarinet for the Utah Valley Millennial Choirs and Orchestra, and began performing research with BYU's neuromechanics lab. As of now it isn't clear what I'll be doing after graduation, but I'll let that happen in its time.
This year has been so great! We were blessed to have Javier move here to the States so we could get married in June. Javier finished up his university classes and is excited to start his internship in DC in January. Melinda is excited to only have one semester left in school. We're excited for the new life that we have together and for the many years to come. Merry Christmas and happy New year!
This year I finally turned 16! But no, no driving permit.  I have had a super busy time working around school, color guard, harp, and SATs.  I would take up more extracurricular activities if time and money would allow, but I'm happy with all I have on my plate since it's already stretching my limits quite a bit.  This year has been awesome and I hope everyone else's was too!

We wish each of you prosperity and happiness and peace throughout this coming year.

Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!

The Tsai family,
Ben, Li-Fang, Jessica and Henry and Blake, Jonathan, Joshua, Melinda and Javi, and Megan

Happy Holidays 2023

中文版在英文版的下面 ↓↓↓ Dear family and friends, This year, many in our family had the opportunity to visit Taiwan. 2023 for our family included the newest baby, the passing away of a matriarch, and a blissful retirement. Li-Fang and I now have 6 beautiful grandchildren. We are grateful for family relations and blessings. Happy new year! We really enjoyed the visits from our two older daughters and their children. After Megan also came home for a month, we commenced a cross-country drive to Utah and California. We visited my brother, Tim, and his family, and San Francisco. Then we flew to Taiwan for a 2-week around-the-island tour, in which we visited over 100 people in over 50 places. By the way I retired from federal government service. While I do miss the amazing opportunities at NIST and the wonderful friends I made there, I am relishing my retirement, still teaching part-time at Montgomery College, keeping busier than before with more service, physical, and social a

Brother Chen took us to the Shou Feng train station. We rode the train to Pingtung, where Li-Fang’s classmate, Li Guiyun, picked us up to her house. On Day 9, Li-Fang's friend took us to tour the Six Tribe Hakka Cultural Center. After lunch, she drove us to the Pingtung train station. We rode the train to the Tainan. After checking in at our AirBnb, we rode a taxi to visit Li-Fang’s aunt and her second cousin, Zheng Xiang. On Day 10, we met with our friend, Jobie Li. Taiwan Island Trip: Part 1

We flew from San Franciso to South Korea, and then to Taiwan. At the Incheon Airport, we had a layover of about five hours. So we took our time to eat pho and to make origami silk squares at the cultural center. When we arrived at the Taoyuan Airport, the Chou's were waiting for us and ready to drive us to their home. On Day 2 of the Taiwan Island Trip, we ate a breakfast of meat cakes and fish soup with Vincent and Jean Chou. Then their whole family of 8 tooks in their minivan for a drive-by tour of Tsinghua University and TSMC. Then we toured the National Palace Museum, including an audio tour. Next, we enjoyed lunch at the museum restaurant. They drove us to the Taipei Temple Patron Housing. On Day 3, we attended the Taipei Temple. Jean and Vincent Chou joined us at the Temple.
