What an amazing year 2025 was for our family! Our list of adventures included a family reunion with my brothers in Chicago, a relaxing trip to Williamsburg and Virginia Beach with Jessica and Joshua, and a Church history tour of Palmyra and Kirtland with church friends. It was our first year of enjoying our first hybrid car. Having to add gas only once a month has simplified life and made it all worthwhile. We share our gratitude of these many blessings and hope that you, the reader, will have received lots of blessings as well this past year and many more in the coming year.
This year, Ben has taught half-time at the local Montgomery College. He is serving as the mission leader at church to help new converts with the aid of the full-time missionaries. Li-Fang is enjoying herself by teaching oil painting and sewing at VisArts in Rockville and still continues to teach private piano. She is serving in the Relief Society, the women's organization in our church. Besides the trips with family, we took a couple of side trips. The first was a train trip to celebrate our anniversary at Harper's Ferry. Without a car, we walked together everywhere in the historic city in West Virginia. The second was a car trip to celebrate Ben's 60th birthday at Hatteras and Chincoteague. Afterwards, the family presented him with a Shutterfly photo album of his life. We enjoy singing in the Washington DC Temple Choir. Every week we also serve together in the Washington DC Temple.
We are so grateful for an amazing year ❤️ Blake turned 12 this year and became a deacon, and for his 12th birthday we were able to celebrate in his favorite place in the whole world, Hawaii 🌈 we had the best time! That boy loves the ocean and all things WWII. We also got to visit my parents and Josh out East over the summer and had the best time visiting as many states as we could 😂 I love showing my little family where I grew up and all the history and diversity over there. Blake started middle school in August, Grace started kindergarten, and Trey started preschool. And I’m having a great time chauffeuring everyone all over the place 😂 In September, after searching for a new job for over a year and about to give up, Oracle reached out to Henry, and he got a new job with them 😊 and couldn’t be happier! We are just so thankful for our adventures together and for our friends and family and all of our blessings. Life can be so rough sometimes, but miracles happen all the time! Merry Christmas! 🎄
Happy Holidays, everyone! This year has been pretty quiet for me. I started working at Tesla earlier this year, and it's been a great experience so far. Other than that, I've been enjoying spending time with my sisters' families. Wishing all a festive Christmas season and a wonderful rest of the year!
Outside of my job at Stanley Black and Decker, I spent a good deal of time volunteering with local grassroots organizations around civil rights and democracy, which was one of the more meaningful parts of my year. I also had fun just enjoying life and exploring DC, exploring different neighborhoods, trying new food, playing games, and appreciating being near cities with a lot going on. A solid year but definitely time to rest!

This year has flown by. Javi has kept busy with work and his calling as Elder’s Quorum president. He's been having a lot of fun building a new app called Taleblazers.io and even more fun using it to help the girls learn more vocabulary, spark their creativity, and just spend more time with them. And the girls love "historia" time with Papa! Melinda has been busy taking care of the girls and organizing lots of musical numbers for our ward.
Sofia has been improving her Chinese a lot. She and Evie like to go to their dance classes. Sydney is super active and loves to talk and play with her older sisters. They are super excited to meet their new baby sister next year! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! |
It's been a great year! Never have I ever been so stressed about my future but still be able to enjoy the present. I am graduating from BYU at the end of this semester, and I'll finally have to say my goodbyes to this beautiful campus. As for what will happen next year, who's to say? I made as many memories as I could for 2025: I finished my team capstone project, tested for my second degree black belt, went on a study abroad to Greece and Italy, visited Chicago with family, and joined the BYU Color Guard for one last season (and it's still going!). Being free from school is a little scary, having been in school for forever, so naturally what else is there to do but apply for grad school? It's a busy time of year, but I'm grateful for all the time I could spend with my siblings and parents, nephews and neices. Wishing everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year! Cheers!
Best wishes for the new year. We wish each of you prosperity and happiness and peace throughout this coming year.
The Tsai family,
Ben & Li-Fang, Jessica & Henry & Blake & Grace & Trey, Jonathan, Joshua, Melinda & Javi & Sofia & Evelyn & Sydney, and Megan
